XRP Price Prediction as Pro-Ripple Lawyer Warns Democrats’ Anti-Trump Stance Could Kill CLARITY Act

Ripple (XRP) price is up slightly today, September 15, despite falling odds of the CLARITY Act bill passing today’s Senate cloture vote.

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) were also moving in a narrow range as the crypto market awaits the outcome of the vote.

Pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton now warns that the bill may never pass as long as President Trump is associated with it.

John Deaton Slams Democrat Senators Over CLARITY Act

In an X post, Deaton, who vehemently supported XRP in its lawsuit with the SEC, noted that Democrat Senators will still find a reason to vote against the CLARITY Act bill even if President Trump agrees to all their demands.

Deaton added that these senators will not give Trump any legislative win before the November midterm elections as they turn towards partisan politics and gaining government control.

“They hate Trump and despise him being reelected so much – that if America was burning to the ground – and it was Trump who held the water hose to put the fire out – they’d turn off the water,” Deaton added.

Deaton’s remarks come after Senate Democrats prepare a counterproposal on the bill, with Senator Adam Schiff noting that the latest ethics provisions “don’t go far enough.”

Banking groups are also opposing the revised stablecoin text, saying that it is not sufficient to stop deposit flight from banks to platforms that offer stablecoin yield.

XRP price remains above support despite falling odds that the CLARITY Act will pass in 2026. Data from CoinGape prediction markets currently show that there is an 81% chance that the bill fails.

XRP Open Interest Contracts

Data from CryptoQuant shows that the 30-day change in XRP’s open interest on Binance topped -53 million XRP. This was notably lower than the -39 million XRP posted on July 10 before the August gains occurred.

The same OI metric on Bybit also dropped from 61 million XRP in August to -37.5 million in September.

Amid this decline in OI, the XRP price moved from around $1 to $1.40 at the time of writing, suggesting that traders closed their derivatives positions on XRP despite the market sentiment shifting to bullish.

Bitwise XRP ETF Inflows Hit September Highs

While the OI suggests that futures traders are exiting the market ahead of the CLARITY Act vote, data from SoSoValue suggests that institutions are still purchasing XRP through ETFs.

The Bitwise XRP ETF recorded $11.26 million in inflows on September 15. This is the highest inflow seen by this ETF since August 28.

However, all the other four XRP ETFs that trade in the US did not record any inflows on the day. The XRP ETF also had the third-highest inflows after Bitcoin’s inflows of $160 million and Ethereum’s inflows of $121 million.

XRP Price Breaks Out of Triangle Resistance as Bulls Target $1.50

XRP price is testing the resistance of a triangle pattern at $1.42. If XRP can close above this resistance, the price could reach the next psychological obstacle at $1.50.

The MACD line that is positive suggests that the momentum is still favoring bulls on the daily timeframe. However, the MACD histogram bars that are negative and faded suggest that these bulls could be losing their grip.

The MFI reading of 44 also suggests that the selling pressure is outpacing the buying pressure, and this may be preventing the move above the resistance at $1.42.

If this move above the obstacle at $1.42 does not occur, XRP price might drop to test the support at $1.33.
