What Happened in Markets Today
Stocks ended a volatile week on a high note. Despite the resumption of hostilities around the crucial Strait of Hormuz earlier this week, the S&P 500 gained 0.4% on Friday. The Nasdaq composite also rose 0.3%. Both indexes climbed more than 1% over the course of the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average on Friday added 149 points, or 0.3%, but it closed slightly down for the five sessions.
