The Nasdaq Composite was up 1.3%, to end near 25,837, according to preliminary data from FactSet. It was the largest one-day percentage gain for the tech-heavy index since June 30.

The S&P 500 rose 0.9%, ending at around 7,509, for its best day since June 29.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced over 380 points, or 0.7%, to finish near 52,224.

Semiconductor and memory-chip stocks such as Micron Technology and Sandisk gave a strong boost to the broader market on Tuesday, with the PHLX Semiconductor Index up 5.2% and booking its best day in over a month. The Roundhill Memory ETF also surged over 11%, giving back some of its sharp losses from earlier this month.
