Hard to believe, but the politicians in Sacramento are surveying the state’s pension obligations—and making them worse. Will Gov. Gavin Newsom dare to block this future tax on Gen Z?

The state Assembly has whooped through two bills with near unanimous support that would reverse some of former Gov. Jerry Brown’s pension reforms and create a new retirement perk. Taxpayers will get socked with the bill later, and the cost will skyrocket if there’s a stock-market downturn, as sooner or later there will be. Californians have seen this before.
