Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI Releases Grok 4.6 AI Model

Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI has officially introduced its latest frontier model, Grok 4.6, just over a month after it released Grok 4.5. The AI model is notably an improvement on 4.5 and matches up to OpenAI and Anthropic’s latest models on certain benchmarks.

SpaceXAI Releases Grok 4.6 Model

In a news release, SpaceXAI announced the release of Grok 4.6, which it noted builds on Grok 4.5 with a focus on long-running agents and more ambitious interactive and visual work. The AI firm further noted that its latest model also achieves frontier intelligence across several agentic coding and knowledge work benchmarks.

Notably, the AI model matches up to OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Sol on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, with both models tying with a score of 61. Meanwhile, Grok 4.6 is only behind Anthropic’s Fable 5 by a point.

Furthermore, the SpaceXAI model ranks first on the GDPVal-AA v2, AA-Briefcase, and Harvey LAB benchmarks. The AI firm revealed that its latest model is already available on Grok Build, Cursor, Grok Bot, and the API.

Commenting on the Grok 4.6 release, Musk described the AI model as a “banger.” It is worth noting that the release comes just over a month after the release of Grok 4.5. Meanwhile, Musk earlier revealed that they plan to release Grok 4.7 just weeks after they release 4.6, suggesting that they could release 4.7 by next month.

SpaceX Stock Surges Over 6%

The SpaceX stock has surged over 6% amid the release of Grok 4.6, with the stock currently trading at almost $142, according to TradingView data. The stock is also up over 24% in the past five days, climbing above its IPO price of $135.

Morgan Stanley presented a bull case of $600 per share for the SpaceX stock yesterday, citing the company’s AI business. The bank believes that the stock could achieve such upside as Elon Musk’s company moves to build a broader AI platform, with Grok as the intelligence layer, while Cursor AI also plays a major role.

Morgan Stanley’s analyst Adam Jones also noted that only a few investors are bullish on SpaceX’s AI business beyond Neocloud.

Crypto traders are also largely betting against SpaceXAI despite the company’s push to rival OpenAI and Anthropic. Data from the top crypto prediction market platform Polymarket shows only a 5% chance that SpaceXAI will have the best AI model by the end of this year.
