Analyst Predicts Ethereum Price Could Hit $3,000 After Strong Weekly Close

Ethereum price climbed above $2,480 on Wednesday as broader cryptocurrency markets advanced alongside Bitcoin.

Ethereum also reclaimed $2,500 as short-term support, strengthening expectations for continued upward momentum. Analyst believes a strong weekly close could open a path toward $3,000. Meanwhile, XRP recovered near $1.44 while maintaining nearby technical support.

Analyst Eyes Ethereum Price Breakout Toward the $3,000 Target

Ethereum price as one of the analysts Ted Pillows observes is once again nearing the crucial level of $2,550 over the past week. His opinion is that a persuasive close at the end of the week above that threshold may help the price move to $3,000.

The weekly chart shows that Ether is close to $2,519 following its recent rally above the lower levels. Ethereum price has also bounced back above the 50-week exponential moving average, which is indicated close to $2,383.

However, Ether remains close to the 100-week simple moving average around $2,512. This indicator crosses current price action, adding to pressure in the short term resistance area.

The chart identifies the next resistance near $2,800 if Ether secures a breakout above $2,550. Reaching that area could strengthen the analyst’s case for a later advance toward $3,000 as per the future ETH outlook.

Any failure to break out of the range of above $2,550 would leave the breakout unproven and subject Ether to a fresh wave of weakness. The initial key support is close to $2,185 where the buy interest had stabilized the price.

The RSI was 52.45 indicating neutrality. In the meantime, MACD dropped under its signal line indicating less short-term momentum.

Here’s why Ethereum Price Could Rally

Ethereum price could rally toward $3,000 after reclaiming $2,500, which now offers important short-term support. The positive CLARITY Act performance might enhance the regulatory confidence and raise the institutional demand.

In the meantime, a dovish FOMC meeting or a signal of lower rate can boost risk asset appetites. Further gains in Bitcoin would also boost the market mood and allow Ethereum to further its recovery and overcome greater resistance points in the near future.

Ethereum Open Interest Reaches $33.72 Billion as Volume Surges

Ether derivatives trading activity increased as the volume of trade surged 20% to $40.87 billion, indicating a reentry into the market. Open interest rose by 1.35% to 33.72 billion, meaning that traders had widened their positions. The volume of options also improved to $814.91 million by 3.97% within the period in question.

In the meantime, options open interest increased 0.70% to $6.83 billion, which contributed to a wider rise in the derivatives market of Ethereum. The numbers indicate better aggregate participation, but the growth in open interest was rather low.
